Business or Group Health Care Plans
Group coverage is broken down into two categories: small (2-50 employees) and large (51+ employees). McLaughlin and Smoak is an independent insurance agency which means that we will shop the market and work with an employer to choose the highest quality plan at the most affordable rate.
Most small employers and many large employers choose the fully insured model while some larger employers will opt for the self-insured plan. Traditional models with co-pays and contemporary HDHP (HSA’s and HRA’s) options are available.
The advantages of group coverage are guaranteed issue, regardless of health conditions and waiver of pre-existing conditions with proof of prior coverage.
To receive a quote for group coverage, contact Colin or Trey for a brief risk analysis to best determine the plan design most suitable for you. We will need a census of employees containing name, gender, date of birth, tier of coverage (employee only, employee & spouse, employee & children or family) and residential zip code. The census will be used to obtain quotes from the carriers and it will provide a starting point for the final risk and rate determination.
